‘Friends’, the series, premiered on September 22, 1994. The first season of the series had twenty four episodes in it. The series opens with introduction to all the characters while they are all having coffee at Central Perk, except for Rachel. Rachel becomes a part of the gang later, though she is already friends with Monica and Ross. We are introduced to Rachel in her wedding gown as she has managed to escape from her wedding. The gang then introduces this daddy’s girl to the real world, where she will have to earn for herself and thus becomes a roommate to Monica. In the next episode, Ross’ world comes crashing down when he comes to know that his lesbian ex wife and her girlfriend are going to have his baby, which breaks him down completely. In the next episode, Phoebe finds a human thumb floating in her can of soda and gets a compensation of seven thousand dollars, which she just can’t come to terms with. Chandler takes to smoking. Monica is dating a guy whom everyone likes, except for her. In the next episode, the girls are spying on a sexy politician and the boys decide to go to a hockey match, where Ross breaks his nose. In the next episode, Ross and Rachel wash their dirty linen in public, where Ross gets to kiss Rachel for the first time. Joey wants to date this girl who already has a boyfriend and in order to date her he sets up a double date with the woman, her boyfriend, Monica, and him, where a lot of confusion takes place.
